Prior to Mists of Pandaria, Destruction Warlock dps rotation sometimes fell just short of the DPS and survivability needed to get kills in PvP against some classes. The use of Shadowburn was able to “steal” some kills, but Destruction had issues taking some classes from full to zero health. Mists of Pandaria increased the damage and usability of some of the Destruction Warlock talents especially Chaos Bolt and Havoc. Although, the Destruction Warlock build requires the accumulation of Burning Embers to cast big hitters, the ability to drop players in PvP as well as survivability seems improved.
Mists of Pandaria PvP Warlock DPS Rotation
Use Fel Fire when on the run and Incinerate to both do damage and build up Burning Embers in your DPS rotation. Once you have any Burning Embers use your Chaos Bolt if you think you can get the cast off or use Conflagrate if you have to move or their is a chance you will be interrupted.
Be sure to spam Fel Flame in your DPS rotation when you are on the move if your target is fully dotted. Fel Flame does more damage in Mists of Pandaria.
Use Shadowfury, Fear, or Succubus Seduction/Mesmerize to set your target up for a Chaos Bolt.
Keep the target or targets dotted with Immolate and use Curse of the Elements for increased damage. Destruction Warlock should pump out continuous damage in their DPS rotation.
Destruction Warlocks have an improved burst by using Havoc in their DPS rotation. One good way to use Havoc is to dot your current target with Immolate, Curse of the Elements, and Havoc then immediately switch to another target and fully dot and then land a Chaos Bolt on the new target. With Havoc on your first target, the next Chaos Bolt or any other three fire spells will be duplicated on the first target.
I recommend that you macro all DPS CD’s to Conflagrate or Incinerate in your DPS rotation. If you tie it to Chaos Bolt, you run more of a risk of getting interrupted during the cast due to the long cast time.
Mists of Pandaria seems to have increased the usability and effectiveness of Destruction Warlock fire spells giving Destruction Warlocks DPS rotation a chance to really crank out some damage.
